A learned model is a set of expectations, and expectations only help where they fit. The clean-up network behind Cloud HD enhancement has seen an enormous number of photographs and almost nothing else, so it knows what a slightly soft eyelash, a compressed brick wall or a noisy patch of grass should look like when repaired. Hand it a screenshot of a spreadsheet and it has no comparable experience to draw on. This is not a flaw to be patched out; it is what makes the model good at the thing it is good at. Match the input to the prior and the output is convincing.

Text is the one failure mode that can pass unnoticed. Blur destroys the letter, the model rebuilds a letter, and the rebuilt one is chosen for plausibility rather than truth — so a licence plate, a serial number or a street sign can come back crisp and incorrect. Treat any reconstructed lettering as an illustration, never as a record. When what you actually want is the words rather than the picture, the on-device image-to-text reader extracts them in your browser and changes no pixels at all.

Artwork has a better answer than enhancement. A logo, an icon set or a line drawing is defined by hard edges and flat fills, and a photographic model tends to give those edges a slight organic wobble that reads as wrong on a brand mark. Rebuild the geometry instead: the image-to-SVG converter traces the shapes into a vector that is sharp at any size, on your device and free. The upload, in the exact terms it deserves. Cloud HD is Pro-only, opt-in, and the only part of MiniPx that leaves your device — every compressor, converter, cropper and resizer here works inside the browser. When you do run it, your image is uploaded to our server for that run and deleted when the run finishes, and in all cases within 24 hours; it is processed in the United States on Cloudflare R2 storage and Modal GPUs, encrypted in transit, and never used to train anything. The model that ran is named on the result — RestoreFormer++ today; the model can change, and you can always see which one ran.

How it works

  1. Check the image is photographic: Camera-made content gains most. Vector artwork, screenshots of text and flat graphics are the cases to route elsewhere.
  2. Upload it for a Cloud HD run: JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels, uploaded for that run only.
  3. Let the clean-up and face passes run: Blur, noise and compression damage are addressed across the frame; any faces found get a dedicated restoration pass.
  4. Verify any text in the frame: Zoom to 100% on lettering, labels and numbers before you use the result anywhere the words matter.

Frequently asked questions

Is an image different from a photo as far as this model is concerned?
Very much so. The model learned what the world looks like through a lens — skin, fabric, foliage, brick, the particular way a camera renders an out-of-focus background. Give it something built that way and it reconstructs convincingly. Give it a flat vector illustration and it has no useful prior, so the result is unpredictable rather than wrong in an interesting way.
Does it work on screenshots and interface captures?
Partly. Compression damage in a screenshot cleans up well, and photographic content inside a screenshot behaves like a photograph. Text is the trap: a reconstruction model produces plausible letterforms, which can look sharp and be wrong. Never treat rebuilt text as evidence — if you need the words, the on-device text extractor reads them without changing anything.
What about logos, line art and diagrams?
Send those somewhere else. Flat colour with hard edges is exactly what a photographic model has no prior for, and enlarging or cleaning them usually introduces soft wobble along edges that should be geometrically straight. Converting to a vector is the correct answer for artwork, because a vector is resolution-independent by construction.
Can I enhance a product photo for a shop listing?
Yes, and it is one of the better uses — product shots are photographic, the faults are usually softness and noise from indoor light, and the same-size output slots straight into a listing pipeline. Check the result at 100% on any text printed on the packaging, since that is where a reconstruction is most likely to invent a letter.
What goes in and what comes back?
In: JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels. Out: the same pixel dimensions, cleaned up, with any faces restored and faded colour lifted. It is one general Cloud HD run — 150 a month on Pro Monthly, 200 on Pro Annual, 30 runs an hour at most — and a refused or failed run is not charged.
