Cloud HD, in plain numbers
Cloud HD is the Pro-only, opt-in path where an AI tool runs on our server instead of your device. It covers 7 tools: 4 that live only there — photo restoration, colorizing, the AI photo enhancer and the object remover — and 3 free tools where it is a switch you turn on: the background remover, the image upscaler and the passport photo maker.
One run, one unit. 150 units a month on Pro Monthly, 200 on Pro Annual. The meter is shown before every run.
10 of them can be HD runs. The 4 MP upscale, object removal and a colorized restore also draw a separate monthly HD counter, shown the same way.
Resets monthly, no rollover. Unused units do not carry into the next month, and a run that fails on our side is not charged.
Processed in the United States. The upload goes to Cloudflare R2, the model runs at Modal.
Deleted when it is done. Your photo is deleted when the run finishes, and in all cases within 24 hours, and is never used to train anything.
Off until you turn it on. Leave the switch off and nothing on MiniPx uploads a photo. Section 2A of the privacy policy sets out the whole path.
Pricing questions
Will the free tier ever change?
Compression, conversion and resizing stay free and unlimited, with no signup and no daily cap. That is the core of MiniPx and it is not changing. The 3 on-device AI tools are the one exception: 2 runs shared across all three tools, then a 60 minute wait. Each further time you spend the allowance the wait grows by 30 minutes, up to 24 hours. It resets to 60 minutes after a week without an AI run. After that you either go Pro — which makes those on-device runs unlimited — or wait it out. The 4 Cloud HD tools have never been part of the free tier; they run on our server and need Pro.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription, and what happens then?
Email contact@minipx.com from your purchase email and we stop the next renewal — we confirm by reply. Pro features turn off at the end of your current billing period. The free tier keeps working: compression, conversion and resizing stay unlimited, batches go back to 5 files at a time, the 3 on-device AI tools go back to the free allowance of 2 runs, and Cloud HD and the 4 server-only tools stop. Any images you compressed during your Pro period stay on your device (we never had them anyway).
What is Cloud HD, and what does a run cost me?
Cloud HD is the Pro-only, opt-in path where an AI tool runs on a server we rent instead of on your own device, so it can use a model your browser could not. It covers 7 tools: 4 that exist only there — restore old photos, colorize, AI photo enhancer and remove an object — and 3 free tools where it is an optional switch: the background remover, the image upscaler and the passport photo maker. Every run costs one unit of your monthly allowance, 150 units a month on Pro Monthly and 200 on Pro Annual, and the meter is shown before the run. A few heavy runs — the 4 MP upscale, object removal, a colorized restore — also draw a separate counter of 10 HD runs a month, shown the same way. A run that fails on our side is not charged. The allowance resets at the start of each month and does not roll over.
What happens to a photo I send to Cloud HD?
It is uploaded for that one run and nothing else goes with it — not your other files, not the filename, not the location or camera data, which our server strips before the model ever sees the image. The upload sits in Cloudflare R2 and the model runs at Modal; both are in the United States, so a Cloud HD photo is processed in the United States. It is deleted when the run finishes, and in all cases within 24 hours — passport and ID photos the moment the run completes — and it is never used to train, tune or evaluate anything. Cloud HD is off until you turn it on, and each tool says beside its run button that the photo goes to our server and when it is deleted. Section 2A of the privacy policy sets out the whole path.
Do I have to use Cloud HD if I buy Pro?
No. Cloud HD is off by default and it is the only part of MiniPx that ever uploads a photo. Compression, conversion, resizing, the PDF tools and the favicon generator have no server option at all, and the background remover, upscaler and passport photo maker keep working on your own device exactly as they did before — leaving the switch off costs you nothing except the 4 server-only tools, which you simply do not use. Everything else in Pro is unaffected.
Can I pay in INR instead of USD?
Paddle converts the USD price and shows the INR equivalent at checkout for Indian customers, and all major Indian cards work. Prices are set in USD, so there is no separate India price: the INR figure you see is the current conversion of the USD amount, not a discount. UPI is not supported at checkout today.
Do you offer a free trial of Pro?
Yes, a small one, and it is worth being exact about it. Every browser gets one full compression with the Pro compressor features switched on: watermarking, responsive sets, multi-format export, the 12 platform presets, saved presets, advanced codec controls and batch rename. Turn on whatever you like, compress once, keep the output. It is only spent when you actually engage one of those controls, so an ordinary compression does not burn it. Two things it does not cover: the 5-file batch cap stays in place, and the 3 on-device AI tools stay on their own free allowance of 2 runs. It does not include Cloud HD either. One try per browser, remembered in local storage, and it does not renew. After that, monthly billing is the lowest-commitment way to keep going.
Refund policy?
Full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked, until you make substantial use of Pro. That means any one of: downloading the output of a batch larger than the free tier allows (more than 5 images in one job); downloading output from a Pro-only feature — watermarking, multi-format export, the 6 batch rename templates or advanced codec controls; downloading a background removal above the free 1080px cap, or a Pro-tier upscale or passport photo; completing a Cloud HD run (a run that failed on our side does not count); or saving a preset and applying it to a later job. Opening, previewing or activating Pro is not use. Faulty or misdescribed features are refundable for 60 days regardless of use, and your statutory rights in the EU, UK and India are unaffected either way.
