AI Photo Colorizer — Free, Fast & Private

Colorizing a photograph is a prediction, and it is worth being honest about that. The model behind this page, DDColor, has seen enough of the world to know that grass tends green, skies tend blue and skin tends warm — so it paints each region of your monochrome photo with the colour it considers most plausible. For most photographs the result reads as naturally as the sample above, which was produced by this exact pipeline and is labelled with the exact model version that made it. For a specific dress, a specific car, a specific front door, the model is guessing — a beautiful, well-informed guess, but not a historical record.

This is the one MiniPx tool that runs on a server, and the page treats that as a disclosure, not a footnote. Every other tool on this site — the background remover, the upscaler, the compressors — processes your image on your own device, and your file never leaves your browser. Colorization is different because the model is simply too large to ship to a browser. So your photo is uploaded over an encrypted connection, processed once, and deleted on completion — in all cases within 24 hours, with the input gone before your download link is even issued. It is never used to train anything, ours or anyone else’s.

Resolution is preserved. The colorized PNG comes back at the same pixel dimensions you uploaded, up to 24 megapixels. If your source is a small old scan, run it through the upscaler afterwards on your own device — the two tools compose well, and only this one involves an upload.

Old prints deserve a little preparation. Scan at 600 DPI if you can, crop the scanner bed border with the crop tool, and leave dust exactly where it is — the colorizer copes with grain and scratches better than most cleanup filters do, and every cleanup pass before colorization is a pass that can smear the detail the model reads colour from.

What it costs, in plain numbers.   4. Download the result: The colorized PNG comes back at full resolution. Your uploaded file is deleted before the download link reaches you.
