Transparent Background Online — Free, Fast & Private

A transparent background lets you place an image on any color, gradient, or scene without an ugly white box around it. MiniPx makes any image transparent online for free, and the AI does it in your browser by default: no signup, 2 free AI runs to start. Pro can switch on Cloud HD for a heavier model, which is the one path that uploads.

The output is a standard transparent PNG (RGBA format with the alpha channel set per the AI-detected subject mask). Drop it straight into Shopify product listings, Etsy storefronts, Notion docs, slide decks, Figma designs, or anywhere else a transparent image is needed.

JPEG files cannot hold transparency by design — that is why the output is always PNG. If you need a transparent image saved as a different format (WebP supports transparency, AVIF does too), use the converter on the result.

What is a transparent background?

It is an image where the area around the subject has no color, so whatever is behind the image shows through. Useful for logos, product photos, profile pictures, and design composites.

Why PNG and not JPEG?

JPEG cannot store transparency. PNG, WebP, and AVIF all support it. MiniPx outputs PNG by default.

Is it really free?

Yes. Free tier outputs 1080x1080 with a tiny "minipx.com" watermark and 2 AI runs shared across all three AI tools, then a cooldown starting at 60 minutes. No signup. On-device Pro runs are unlimited; Cloud HD runs are metered separately.

Does the image get uploaded?

Not by default. The background remover runs on your device and nothing is uploaded — unless you are a Pro subscriber and switch on Cloud HD for a run. Then that one photo goes to our server for the heavier model, is processed in the United States, and is deleted when the run finishes, and in all cases within 24 hours. Cloud HD is off until you turn it on, the switch says so beside the run button, and the free path never changes.
