Only need the signature under 50 KB, with no pixel rules? Compress image to 50 KB aims at that size alone; the tool on this page also checks the lower limit.
The CUET (UG) 2026 — Information Bulletin (NTA) prints the signature requirement on printed p. 9: Signature file should be JPG/JPEG format (clearly legible) between 10 kb to 50 kb.
Format, legibility and a size band, and nothing else. No pixel size, no box, no ink colour. The photograph, set out on the same page of the bulletin, has a different band, 10–200 KB.
Starting from a file you already have
Most applicants reach this page with a signature file that already worked somewhere else. The JEE (Main) signature, from the same agency, has a band of 10–100 KB; the CUET band, 10–50 KB, tops out lower, so that file can be too heavy here. Do not squeeze the old file a second time. Every re-save of a JPEG discards a little more of the stroke, and a signature that is “clearly legible” on the first pass can be mush on the third. Go back to the original scan or photograph and export it once, straight into this band.
The JEE side of this comparison is on the JEE (Main) signature page, so you can see both tables and decide which file to keep.
Counting the band both ways
The tool reads the ceiling the strict way, 50,000 bytes, and the floor the strict way, 10,240 bytes, so a file that clears both clears the portal under either reading of a kilobyte. The band is wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, which makes the ceiling the one to watch with a phone photo. A signature on a sheet of paper is mostly paper, and paper texture is what pushes the file over.
- Sign on plain white paper in a dark pen. Our advice, not a bulletin rule: sign at your usual size, because a larger signature only spreads the stroke over more pixels.
- Photograph it flat, then crop it so the signature fills the frame with a thin margin.
- Drop the file into the tool, which shows the exact size and says which end of the band it missed, if either.
- Upload the JPG in the signature field of the CUET (UG) application.
Common rejection reasons
The CUET (UG) 2026 notice lists no separate rejection causes for the signature beyond the specification above. Every cause the exam bodies do state is collected, with its page, on the exam rejection reasons page.
The rest of the CUET application
The photograph and its colour rule are on the CUET photo page. For an unrelated image that only needs to be under 50 KB, the 50 KB compressor aims at that size and nothing else. Every exam MiniPx has checked against its notice is on the government exams hub.
The tool runs in your browser and the signature is not uploaded to MiniPx.
