| Format | JPG / JPEG |
|---|---|
| File size | 10–100 KB |
| Pixels | not stated |
| Shape | no ratio stated |
| Print size | not stated |
| DPI | not stated |

The official wording
Signature file should be in JPG/JPEG format between 10 kb to 100 kb
Source: NEET (UG) 2026 — Information Bulletin (NTA), printed pp. 16–17 (February 2026) — checked 5 October 2026
Only need the signature under 100 KB, with no pixel rules? Compress image to 100 KB aims at that size alone; the tool on this page also checks the lower limit.
National Testing Agency prints one line for this file in the NEET (UG) 2026 — Information Bulletin (NTA) (printed pp. 16–17): Signature file should be in JPG/JPEG format between 10 kb to 100 kb
It is a band with a floor, and it says nothing about pixels, a printed box or the colour of the ink. Anything beyond the format and the band is practical advice here, not a rule from the bulletin.

The official wording
Resize the image to less than 80 Kb (maintain aspect ratio …)
Source: NEET-PG 2026 — Information Bulletin (NBEMS), pp. 110–119 (NEET-PG 2026) — checked 5 October 2026
NBEMS writes the signature differently, in the NEET-PG 2026 — Information Bulletin (NBEMS) (pp. 110–119): Resize the image to less than 80 Kb (maintain aspect ratio …)
There is no floor, only a ceiling, and the word is “less than”, so a file of exactly the stated figure is out. The tool reads it as 79,999 bytes at most. The bulletin also draws a box, 1.5 cm × 3.5 cm, and asks for black or dark blue ink.
Because the two exams answer differently, a signature file made for one is not automatically valid for the other. A NEET (UG) file can sit above the NEET-PG ceiling, and a NEET-PG file made with no floor in mind can fall under the NEET (UG) minimum of 10,240 bytes. Make each file against its own band.
The NEET-PG tool sits directly under the NEET (UG) one at the top of this page; use the one for the exam you are applying to.
Getting the signature to look right before the size
The NEET-PG bulletin does not only set a size. Its table of rejected signatures has 12 entries, and most are about what the picture shows rather than how heavy it is: the box, the whole signature, the background, the ink, and the wrong document uploaded in its place. Compression cannot repair any of those, so deal with them at the signing stage. Sign inside the printed box on plain white paper with the stated ink, keep the whole signature in frame, and photograph the sheet flat.
For NEET (UG) the bulletin is silent on all of this, which is not permission to be careless: an unreadable signature is still a risk at the centre. A dark pen, a plain white sheet and a tight crop are enough.
- Choose your exam first, since the two files are not interchangeable.
- Sign on plain white paper; for NEET-PG use the printed box and the stated ink.
- Photograph it flat, then crop it without cutting any of the strokes.
- Compress in the matching tool above and read the exact size shown.

The rest of the NEET application
The photograph and the thumb or finger impressions are separate files with their own limits. They are on the NEET (UG) photo page and the NEET-PG photo page, and the impression file for both exams has its own page. To shrink an unrelated image to 100 KB with no NEET checks, use the 100 KB compressor.
The tool runs in your browser and the signature is not uploaded to MiniPx.
