The official wording
Left and Right Hands Fingers and Thumb impressions in JPG/JPEG format between 10 kb to 200 kb
Source: NEET (UG) 2026 — Information Bulletin (NTA), printed pp. 16–17 (February 2026) — checked 5 October 2026
Only need the thumb impression under 200 KB, with no pixel rules? Compress image to 200 KB aims at that size alone; the tool on this page also checks the lower limit.
The official documents disagree
The bulletin states 10–200 KB on printed page 16 and 50–300 KB on printed page 17. The tool targets the overlap, 50–200 KB, which passes both.

For NEET (UG) the NEET (UG) 2026 — Information Bulletin (NTA) asks for left and right hand fingers and thumb impressions as a JPG/JPEG, and gives a size band for it. The bulletin prints that band twice and the two prints disagree, so the note under the table shows both, with their pages. The bulletin states 10–200 KB on printed page 16 and 50–300 KB on printed page 17. The tool targets the overlap, 50–200 KB, which passes both. Whichever figure the portal enforces, a file inside the overlap is accepted.
The bulletin states no pixel size or print box for this file. It does say how a poor one ends: Further, unclear Left and Right hand fingers and thumb Impressions in Online Application Forms will also be rejected.
(printed p. 17). A smudged or half-inked sheet is a rejection, not a size problem.

The official wording
The size of image should be less than 80kb.
Source: NEET-PG 2026 — Information Bulletin (NBEMS), pp. 110–119 (NEET-PG 2026) — checked 5 October 2026
NBEMS asks for a single document: left thumb impression inside a 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm box, scanned at the stated resolution. The NEET-PG 2026 — Information Bulletin (NBEMS) puts the ceiling this way: The size of image should be less than 80kb.
It is a “less than” limit with no floor, so the tool holds the file to 79,999 bytes or fewer.
Turning the box into pixels is arithmetic, not a figure the bulletin prints: 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm at 200 DPI is about 276 × 118 pixels. A scan of the whole A4 sheet is far larger than that, and the bulletin lists exactly that mistake among its rejected thumb impressions.
The NEET-PG tool sits directly under the NEET (UG) one at the top of this page; use the one for the exam you are applying to.
Taking an impression the scanner can read
A fingerprint is fine ridges, and compression removes fine detail first. Both bulletins want a clear print, and the NEET-PG table has 10 entries describing how one fails: ink colour, a dry print, too much ink, a partial print, a print cropped by the scan, a photo of a print. Our advice, which is not a bulletin rule: press once, lift straight up, and re-take the impression on clean white paper instead of pressing over a smudge.
- Take the impression on plain white paper in blue or black ink, one clean press.
- Scan or photograph the sheet flat in even light; for NEET-PG, keep the print inside the box.
- Crop with a small margin; the crop tool keeps the ridges untouched.
- Compress in the tool for your exam and open the result at full size before you upload it.

Where the other NEET files are
The signature has its own limits, set out on the NEET signature page. The full application, photograph included, is on the NEET (UG) and NEET-PG pages. Bank forms ask for a different print entirely; see the IBPS and SBI left thumb page before reusing any file.
The tool runs in your browser and the impression is not uploaded to MiniPx.
