One mechanism, honestly described. Every AI editing tool on this site does exactly one thing, and this one paints over a region you selected with a reconstruction of what surrounds it. That is why the page is called blemish removal rather than portrait retouching. A retouching workflow separates colour from texture, balances tone across a face, sculpts light and preserves pores deliberately; nothing here does any of that, and a tool that quietly smoothed skin while claiming to remove a spot would be lying about what it changed. What you get instead is precise and limited: the pixels under your brush are replaced, every other pixel in the file is returned exactly as it arrived, and you can verify that by flipping between the two images.

Size is not a detail here, it is the whole story. A reconstructed patch is always slightly more regular than the skin it replaces — the model produces the average of what it saw around the hole, and real skin is not average. Across three millimetres nobody alive can see that. Across a cheekbone it reads as a soft plastic area, the specific artefact that makes an edit look cheap. So the discipline is to zoom in hard, take the smallest brush that covers the mark, and accept several separate dots rather than one confident sweep. If a blemish is genuinely large — a healing graze, a birthmark across half a face — the honest answer is that this tool will hand back a smooth region rather than skin, and you would be better served by a different photograph or by leaving it in.

Know which marks belong to the face. Spots, a stray eyelash on a cheek, a fleck of food, a shine of flash on a forehead, a pen mark on a printed portrait: discrete, temporary, and surrounded by ordinary skin. Lines, shadows, the set of a mouth and the shape under an eye: continuous, structural, and part of how the face is recognised. Masking the second kind removes the geometry that made the picture look like the person, and the fill returns something flatter and younger and less like them. If the portrait needs help for reasons that are not marks at all — soft focus, noise from a dark room, the general mush of an old phone camera — that is not a mask job and belongs to the photo enhancer, which works on the whole frame instead.

Where the file goes, and what else is on this site. This is Cloud HD: Pro-only, opt-in, run on our GPU in the United States because PowerPaint is far too heavy for a browser. Your photo and mask are encrypted in transit, processed once, deleted when the run finishes and in all cases within 24 hours, and never used to train anything. Pro gives 150 runs a month on Monthly and 200 on Annual, of which 10 may be HD runs. Frequently asked questions

Is this a retouching suite?
No, and it is worth being blunt about that. There is no skin smoothing, no frequency separation, no dodge and burn, no reshaping and no beauty slider anywhere on MiniPx. There is one mechanism: you paint over something and the model fills that area from the skin around it. That handles a spot on a cheek well and does not attempt anything a retoucher would call a portrait workflow.
What is the difference between a spot and a wrinkle as far as the model is concerned?
A spot is discrete — a small round region with ordinary skin on every side, which is the easy case. A wrinkle, a laugh line or under-eye shading is continuous structure that runs across the face and defines its shape, so masking it removes something the face is built from and the fill returns a flat, characterless patch. Discrete marks yes; facial structure no.
Will running this smooth or soften my skin?
Only inside the mask. Everything outside your brush comes back pixel for pixel, so pores, freckles and grain elsewhere are untouched. Inside the mask the reconstructed patch is a little smoother than real skin, which is invisible over a two-millimetre spot and increasingly obvious the larger the area you paint. Small masks are not just easier, they are the point.
How large should the brush be?
Barely larger than the mark. Zoom in until the blemish fills a good part of your screen, take the smallest brush that covers it with two or three pixels of margin, and include the shine on top and the shadow at its base if they are part of what you can see. Several tiny separate strokes across a face beat one broad sweep every time.
Can it take out a scar, a mole or a tattoo?
A small mole on even skin behaves like any other spot. A long scar or a tattoo does not: it is large, structured and often runs across curved skin with changing light, so the model has to author a broad new area and the result reads as a smooth patch rather than an arm. It will produce something; whether it is convincing depends heavily on size.
What happens to a photo of my face after the run?
Blemish removal is Cloud HD, the Pro-only opt-in path, and it runs on our GPU in the United States because the model cannot run in a browser. The photo and your mask are encrypted in transit, used for that single run, and deleted when the run finishes and in all cases within 24 hours. They are never used to train anything, ours or anyone else’s.
